On 28th of April 2011, the Macedonian Occupational Safety and Health Association (MOSHA) and the International Labor Organization (ILO) organized a commemoration of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, on the topic "OSH Management System – A tool for continual improvement". The commemoration took place at the Holiday inn hotel and was attended by more than 120 people amongst which: The Minister for Labor and Social Politics Mr. Djeljalj Bajrami, representatives of ILO, representatives of the Norway Embassy in R.M, the State Labor Inspectorate, Organizations of employers and workers, the Institute for Public Health, the Institute for Labor Medicine and members of MOSHA.

The event started with one minute silence, to honor the workers that lost their lives at their workplaces, after which the following speakers addressed the participants:

The presentations were followed by giving plaques "employer of the year" to "JSP" Skopje on recommendation of the Confederation of Free Trade Unions of Macedonia; "Arcelor Mittal", on recommendation of the Federation of Trade Unions Of Macedonia and "Imperial Tobako" TKS, on recommendation of the Federation of Trade Unions Of Macedonia.

This year for the first time, plaques for special contribution in the area of OSH, on recommendation of the State Labor Inspectorate were given to:

• Mr. Agim Sakiri – manager of the normative activity sector
• Mrs. Slobotka Tausanova – OSH inspector
• Mr. Petraki Pop-Andonovski – OSH inspector
