World Safety DayOn the 28th of April 2010, the Macedonian Occupational Safety and Health Association joined the world activities in commemoration of the World Safety Day. This event took place in hotel Kontinental and it was attended by more then 90 people, including: H.E. the Ambassador of Norway in R.Macedonia, representatives of the Government of R.M, Norwegian Labor Authority, International Labor Organization, State Labor Inspectorate, Employers and Employee Organizations, Institute for Public Health, guests from Serbia, Bulgaria and Kosovo and members of MOSHA.

Moderator of the event was Mr. Borce Stojcevski, member of the board of MOSHA.


The Commemoration began with a welcome speech by Mr. Milan Petkovski, President of MOSHA, and one minute silence, to honor the workers who lost their lives at work in the last year.

World Safety DayMr. Pavan Baichoo, representative of ILO, and Mr. Uno Abrahamsen, representative of NLA, presented examples for the commemoration of the World Safety Day, and the guests from Serbia and Kosovo also addressed the audience.

Mr. Ljupco Kocovski presented the MOSHA’s Annual report on accidents at work in R. Macedonia for 2009.

Afterwards, MOSHA signed Memorandums of Understanding with the Union of Independent and Autonomic Trade Unions, the Confederation of Free Trade Unions and the Serbian Association for Occupational Safety and Health.


At the end, plaques for the employer of the year in the area of OSH were awarded to A.D. Alkaloid Skopje, on the recommendation of the Organization of Employers of Macedonia and Prilepska Pivarnica, on the recommendation of the Confederation of Employers of Republic of Macedonia.
